For the past 2 years, I've been working with the restaurant Spicymoon in NYC, doing freelance design work for them. This includes artwork, printed cards, packaging design and layouts. Working with this local restaurant that supports other small businesses, artists, and charities has been wonderful, and has introduced me to how design impacts the real world and local communities.
Spicymoon is a vegan restaurant that prides itself on donating to and aiding animal care organizations and sharing plant based Chinese cuisine with the community. During the winter of 2020 the restaurant owner tasked me to design and paint a mural for their new restaurant location. The concept was to create something that would make people aware of the fur that is used for winter coats and hoods while also being an eye catching illustration that highlights the delicious food at the restaurant. From ideation to illustrating to spray painting I made sure to collaborate closely with the owner to make sure the message and purpose of the mural was clear.
